
What to wear in Mt. Pulag
TRIPinas doesn't allow participants without the essentials, like a tent, a sleeping bag, a headlamp, warm clothes and enough food. You can rent some of these items but please note that we have a limited stock.
WHAT TO BRING:
- tent with flysheet and ground sheet/ foot print
- backpack (around 40L) with a fitted raincover
- sleeping bag
- earth pad
- one set of hiking clothes (see "WHAT TO WEAR")
- one set of camp clothes
- a pair of sturdy hiking boots
- a pair of camp footwear
- poncho and thermal blanket
- dry bag
- headlamp with spare batteries
- trek pole/ hiking stick (optional)
- trail food (e.g. granola bars, dried fruits)
- a small personal thermos (around 500mL capacity) for your hot drinks
- trail water (around 2L)
- personal medications/ first aid kit/ repair kit
- personal toiletries, sun protection
- ID card
- camera, phone, power bank (optional)
- trash bag
WHAT TO WEAR (to the summit)
- multi-layer clothing system
- first layer - base: any moisture-wicking, sweat-resistant fabric shirt
- second layer - insulation: fleece sweaters
- third layer - outer shell: a hooded windbreaker that is also water-resistant (think: GoreTex) for the top and a pair of waterproofed pants
- bonnet
- water-proofed gloves
- warm socks (e.g. wool)
- headlamp with spare batteries
- trek pole
- summit bag to contain your thermos of hot drinks, trail food, first aid kit, thermal blanket and camera/phone
